Minolta Super 8

This is the sound of my Minolta Super 8 camera.
The whirr is just gorgeous! A student is borrowing the camera to shoot a street in edinburgh and compare it to a Streetview.
Whats been interesting is the time that everything has taken. Buying the film. Shooting the movie. Developing costs and time is extraordinary. Two weeks to get back something that might work. No way of knowing, no confidence either.
I'm curious how this time/space compression has altered our model for memories. Is the anticipation and wait part of the memory process? If it is then how does it change now that things are instant and distributable so damn quickly?
