This lane was originally a cul-de-sac that ended at the mill. On old maps it is called Back Lane.

Workers cottages
These worker's cottages were built in 1821, originally as housing for workers. They are built of London stock brick, which must have been a lot of work to transport before the arrival of the railroad.
