The video shows one of my decks playing the track I was listening to when I found out about the passing of one of my professors from the University in Mexico, Bolívar Echeverría. I never knew him well personally but I read his books and got interested in Walter Benjamin and the Frankfurt School partly because of his writings and lectures. I am sure that reading about his death when I was listening to this particular track of an otherwise 'happy' album affected me in a special way. The track is "Kedaco is Gone," the first track on Side D from the "Kedaco Sounds" Little Tempo double album from 2001. Kedaco Sounds are a Japanese reggae/dub/steel band.
