Elizabeth Watson was born at Haddo House in Aberdeenshire, She attended Arbroath High School and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. This is one of the works exhibited in her diploma show. According to one of her fellow students, she redid the painting completely at the last minute as she felt it wasn't working out!
Watson carried out private commissions throughout the 1970s, besides working as a private tutor for schoolchildren and holding classes in Landscape Painting. More exhibitions followed during the 1990s, including a one-woman show in Arbroath and another in Vienna.
“I have painted mainly Angus Land, Sea and River scapes for 50 years,” she says, “and I particularly like to see and portray the effect light has on them.” She presently lives and works at Finavon, Angus.
