The Elgin and Franklin wellhead platforms lie 51/2 km apart in the North Sea, about 240km east of Aberdeen. They are operated by TOTAL E&P UK Limited and produce 125,000 barrels of oil and 15 million cubic metres of gas per day.

The Elgin platform is a production jack-up, allowing it to be easily moved and used elsewhere.
