JK Rowling, author of the famous "Harry Potter" children's books shot to fame when her first book "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" became the top seller of 1999 - selling nearly half a million copies.
Rowling became the second highest grossing writer of the year, selling over 1.3 million copies of her first three Harry Potter books.

I remember reading this on a ski trip to Val Thorens in france. I shared a room with 4 other guys and we all read the Philosophers Stone over the period of 5 days. It reminds me of the smells of all of us after a days skiing.

What i like about Harry potter.
I read this when i was 17, my first boyfriend leant it to me and whilst I didn't stay together with him, I continued to follow Harry's adventures.
