A bung starter is a mallet for loosening or removing the bung from a cask. This one was sent out from Scotland by Johnnie Walker & Sons, Kilmarnock to the Distillers Co. Ltd (DCL) bottling warehouse in Sydney, Australia where it was used until the 1960s.
