These chairs were designed by Neil Morris in 1952. Neil was the son of Harris Morris who in 1902 set up a small cabinet store at 147 Milton St, Glasgow. Morris and Co. expanded and became a well respected furniture company. As well as supplying the domestic market they also had contracts for hotels and cruise liners such as the Queen Mary, The Queen Elizabeth, Caronia and the Empress of Scotland.
