The Hub of CASA at University College London
This is the first tale using the android client running on an htc.
We are putting up a tag in the CASA office to capture memories/thoughts of peoples time in the lab.
Wish I'd know - I was at the office visiting Andy (interesting conversation) but didn't catch the tag!
The rector of the university of malta and three othet visitors are due to visit casa today.
The demos are primed, the office is tidy, the servers are running. However, no sign so far of the visitors...
The team from Malta turned up and the demo went well. We could have our first Malta based tag soon... Busy morning so far in CASA, soon be time for the daily coffee run to Cafe Nero.
I want my little garden in my room to be tagged with a little flag which has a QR code on it - ta - mike alias John.Batty@asu.edu
We are all still here with the TOTeM team currently looking up barcode related stuff. Our server is having a few issues so it could be a late one. With a possible hacker detected.
Still, its a bank holiday weekend ahead - and as is typical it looks like the weather is on the turn.
Next week the office will be buzzing with new staff and thoughts on where we will all sit as CASA out grows its space.
Tales of Things client now available in Android Market, although it may invisible on some Android 2.1 phones!
With the new grants space is at a premium at the moment- despite the boss being away the office is full.
Just waiting for the CASA geocache to be approved..
Spent the last hour building the first geocache - i have 'borrowed' the CASA yo-yo from Mike Battys office...
Just received a new HTC Legend phone, running Android 2.1. This will help me develop an Android version of the TOTeM client.
Coffee is an odd thing here at CASA. Sometimes its cafe nero, othertimes its patisserie valerie. We have a large coffee machine that no-one uses so i tend to use a filter with a cup like device i. Borrow from John the canadian who sits behind me. I feel sorry for Richard as hes the one who always goes on the dot at 11 to get the brews.
Just submitted the latest version (1.0.1) of the TOTeM iPhone client to the App Store, so keeping fingers crossed that it will be approved.
Late visit to CASA, if I would just keep my head on things I am doing. Forgott the paperwork, so had to come back.
Work is going on around CASA to make qrcodes work on curved surfaces - if this works its going to be quite innovative.
We put details online today of the new MRes in Avanced Spatial Analysis and Visualisation (MSAV).
Also the updated iphone app for talesofthings has just been approved by apple.
Finally today the office was photographed for the graduate prospectus....
Just submitted an Android Tales of Things client to the Android Market.
A long week here in CASA - still some good work done and discussions about the future of the lab..
Are computer studios and labs exotic and strange places? I was under the impression that anthropologists went away to cool locations. Learned other (non-programming) languages. And ate unseemly and spicy foods. Basically, travel bums who made a career out of it.
Well I'll be about CASA over the next few months. I've met just about everyone. But so you know a bit about me: http://webmoor.com.
Just submitted Version 2.0.0 of the Tales of Things iPhone client to the App Store. So keep fingers crossed it gets approved!
