The Scribola is a printing chain adder calculator from 1922.
The Scribola is a calculator from 1922, manufactured by Ruthhardt & Co. in Stuttgart, Germany. It is a chain adder, as the digitis in a column are metallic elements of a chain. To input a number, the digits are pushed to the front with a stylus, and the chain rotates a wheel in the counter. Carry is automatic. By pushing the paper roll with the right lever against wheels above the counter, the shown number is printed.
